For Nayef Bouhamdan, Director of Events at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, saving time in the event planning layouts process is something that his team of 13 could not live without.
One of the most time consuming but essential tasks he undertakes is diagramming the layout of events at the property. But, diagramming turned out to be a timely endeavor: dealing with hand-drawn diagrams proved to be a tedious task that resulted in wasted time, and more importantly, less time working with planners. Saving time became of the utmost importance when Bouhamdan realized the team was missing out on event sales opportunities because they were too busy managing diagram revisions with existing clients. With revenue at stake, Bouhamdan wanted a solution that could speed up and scale event planning layouts.

That’s when he discovered Social Tables. Preparing visual layouts became an essential tool in Hyatt’s sales toolkit. For the first time, clients could envision the space with a few clicks of a mouse, and from any modern desktop in the world. What’s more, Bouhamdan was able to help clients picture their space with the help of accurate, 3D diagrams. Providing a 3D rendering of the space gave clients a better view into what his property could achieve, long before a site visit.
“Before using Social Tables, we were wasting a lot of time [creating a floor plans]. But with Social Tables, it makes our work so much easier and more professional”, says Bouhamdan.
Looking back on the way the team used to design event planning layouts, it’s hard for Bouhamdan to believe he created them any other way. Since getting Social Tables he advised other event professionals who are also looking to save time: “everyone should be using event technology”.
